The Video Screen Microscope Magnifies the Smallest Detail!

We all know how much more interesting it is looking at a video instead of a static object. The video screen microscope eyepiece has now evolved into a tablet sized LCD screen that displays the magnified object at up to 1040x. Unlike traditional microscope eyepieces, a 5 MP digital camera captures still images or videos and displays objects on a 7” thin film transistor LCD at 800×480 resolution. The LCD screen display offers the viewer the option to view the item in static or record what is being seen for later analysis. The video screen microscope comes with three objective lenses (4X, 10X or 40X) provide optical magnification from 104X-1040X (up to 4160X when used with its 4X digital zoom).

Objects can be illuminated from the top for solid objects or from the bottom for prepare slides using two separate built-in light sources. A color filter wheel helps block out wavelengths to make the objects clearer. The built in camera has a 128 MB memory capacity that can store up to 120 static shots or up to 40 minutes of video at 1600 x 1200 resolution. An SD card slot allows for memory expansion up to 32 GB. A USB port (cable included) allows you to download content to your computer; works with Windows 8 and 7 (32- and 64-bit versions). Plugs into AC. 14 1/2″ H x 7 1/2″ W x 6 3/4″ D. (3 1/2 lbs.)

Our Opinion

A truly interesting piece of gadgetry that uses a video screen to display the contents being magnified instead of the traditional microscope lenses. We love the versatility of this device that allows the user to view in static or record a video for later analysis. Throw in the USB port and you have a way to download your video or static content to your computer in no time. Pricey but deserves praise, two thumbs up in our opinion.
